Talisman: Gold and Enamel Pendant by Cartier, Italy c1970 Italy c1970 A whimsical knot pendant by Cartier. The 2 5/8" (from bale)18k yellow gold and enamel slip knot weighing 19.7g. An interesting statement on a leather cord or chain (we have a nice one- see photo). The slip knot-a component of the hangman's noose was used for gallows in the middle ages. Also symbolizing a tight grasp on something- the harder one pulls the more secure the knot becomes! Jewelry with meaning. Price  Condition Perfect. Enamel in excellent condition. Very light scraches to back from wear- could be polished out but we prefer the patina.
